Dave Mix is a seasoned Designer at Insulgard, bringing decades of expertise in architectural fenestration and high-performance glazing systems. He began working in the fenestration industry in 1982, specializing in the design and engineering of custom architectural window wall systems, and has held positions such as Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager. Dave has developed aluminum glazing systems for ballistic, blast, hurricane, and tornadic applications that, after rigorous testing and certification, meet national building codes and industry standards.
An alumnus of Ferris State University, Dave earned an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology. He has been a member of the International Code Council (ICC) since 2012, contributing to the IS-STM Committee and Chapter 8 Work Group and participating in the development of ICC500 standards for 2014, 2020, and 2023. Additionally, he has been an active member of ASTM since 2020, participating in Committee F12 on Security Systems and Equipment.
Dave has been a valued member of the Insulgard team since 1999, applying his technical expertise and industry knowledge to design solutions that prioritize safety, performance, and innovation.
