Understanding the Threat Landscape

Government security products directly safeguard the smooth functioning of operations, prioritizing the safety of employees and visitors.

With bulletproof windows and doors reinforcing structures from city halls to police stations, proactive measures mitigate potential threats from vandalism, planned attacks, or civil unrest.

Government building security resilience is also necessary to protect critical operations, sensitive information, and hubs for essential services during adverse weather events like tornados or hurricanes.

When it comes to potential threats to government buildings, acknowledging and addressing vulnerabilities effectively fosters a secure environment conducive to public trust and confidence.

Ballistic Protection Solutions

Bullet-resistant windows and doors incorporate reinforced aluminum walls and glazing materials like polycarbonate and urethane. Insulgard offers customizable solutions, rigorously tested and certified to meet specific protection criteria. From discreet retrofitting to comprehensive entryway systems, our products ensure cost-effective and reliable ballistic protection for government buildings.

With products available at eight different levels of UL 752 certified ballistic protection, Insulgard equips government buildings against threats from small caliber to large rifle rounds. Tests demonstrate their efficacy in absorbing kinetic energy, preventing immediate glass spall and offering valuable time for evacuation or intervention.

The mere presence of bullet-resistant doors and windows can sometimes be enough to deter potential attacks.

Weather Threat Mitigation

In at-risk regions, government buildings like emergency operations centers, police and fire stations, city halls, courthouses, military bases, and infrastructure facilities require weather-resistant materials and hurricane/tornado safe rooms to ensure continuity of operations and the safety of occupants during severe storms. The International Building Code® from 2015 onward requires that all critical emergency operations in regions with wind speed zones of 250mph or higher have a storm shelter in compliance with ICC500.

Our STORMDEFEND windows, doors, and glass are constructed from reinforced materials and rigorously tested to withstand both wind pressure (up to 250 mph) and impact resistance, safeguarding occupants and fortifying the entire structure.

Compliance and Regulations

Insulgard security products — including hardware, framing, and glazing — adhere to strict compliance certifications, including ICC500-20 and FEMA361-21 for weather resistance, or UL752 for bullet resistance. Offering diverse design options to match your building, our expertly engineered products truly strike a balance between safety and aesthetics.
