Understanding Insulgard’s Bullet-Resistant Products

Learn more about Insulgard security products, including:

  • “Bullet Proof” Glass: SAFECHANGE bullet-resistant transaction windows are meticulously crafted out of fiberglass panels, acrylic, or glass — with a UL 725, Levels 1-3 certified bullet resistant glass rating.
  • “Bullet Proof” Windows: BULLETBLOCK glazing offers a wide variety of makeups to suit the level of protection you need. Select lightweight and clear acrylic (UL 752 Certified, Levels 1-3) for easy installation, or choose all-glass laminate (UL 752 Certified, Levels 1-3) for its durability and weather resistance. For enhanced scratch resistance and customization, laminated polycarbonate (UL 752 Certified, Levels 1-3) is an excellent choice. For maximum security, our glass-clad polycarbonate (UL 752 Listed, Levels 1-8) provides unparalleled protection against threats and harsh weather conditions. Combining these ballistic glass makeups iwth equally tested BULLETBLOCK framing systems will assure the entire opening is secure.
  • “Bullet Proof” Doors: BULLETBLOCK door systems meet UL752 standards with aluminum, architectural aluminum, laminate, and polymer door system bullet resistant rating ranging from Levels 1-3, as well as architectural aluminum for Levels 3, 4, 5, or 8 and hollow metal doors for Levels 1-8.
  • Bullet Resistant Forced Entry Panels: The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM F1233-08) testing sequence for our forced entry glazing materials includes ratings from I-V that test impacts from sledgehammers, pipes, rams, chisels, fire axes, and wood splitting mauls, as well as thermal stress from a propane torch and chemical deterioration from acetone.
  • Bullet Resistant Security Solutions: Insulgard’s bullet-resistant architectural security solutions are designed to meet UL 752 testing standards for Levels 1-8, withstanding up to three lead bullets (with velocities up to 15,851,200 fps) from a 12-gauge shotgun. Each custom-engineered window, door, glass, and glazing product also meets NIJ testing standards Levels II through IV designed to protect against 308 Winchester double metal jackets and armor-piercing rounds.
  • Wind & Impact Community Safe Rooms: The STORMDEFEND TTH600 Window System and STORMDEFEND TTH350 Door System are engineered and tested to meet the rigorous standards set forth by ICC 500-23 and FEMA P-361-2021. Both products are strong enough to withstand 250 mph winds and debris impacts you might see in an EF-5 tornado — the most severe type. Additionally, Insulgard’s window and door systems also meet UL 752 criteria for Level 3 bullet resistance with ZHLA.52 certification for the windows and ZHLA.71 certification for the doors.
